BUCCS DUAL FIXTURES AWAY TO SLIGO
Buccaneers Firsts and Seconds travel to Hamilton Park where they face Sligo in a pair of Bank of Ireland Connacht fixtures on Saturday. The Juniors will get the proceedings under way at 12 noon against the north-westerners in the new Senior Seconds Cup. Sligo will have an advantage here in that their side had an outing away to Galwegians last Saturday when they lost narrowly 14-12. Meanwhile, Buccs scheduled game against Corinthians in this same competition was postponed.
Sligo and Buccs both came away empty-handed from their opening encounters in the Connacht Senior League, both going down to Galway opposition. Galwegians scored a bonus point 31-8 win over the Yeats county representatives at Crowley Park so both teams will be bidding for a first win of the season when the game kicks off at 2.30 p.m.
On Sunday, Buccaneers Womens team have their first taste of competitive fare when they take on Westport in the Bank of Ireland Women’s Invitational Cup at Dubarry Park. This round one game has a 1 p.m. start.
