BUCCANEERS U-15 ‘black’ team travelled to Claremorris on Saturday for their first Connacht league game and came away with a 43-14 win. Despite conceding the opening try Buccs started well although spurning several try scoring opportunities. In a ding-dong first period Buccs looked dangerous every time they passed the ball wide. Buccs were even better in the second half as the opposition tired. Jordan Murray scored twice with Robert Connor, Fergal Kelly, Danny Murphy, Niall Donoghue and Leroy Boakye scoring tries and Corey Kelly landed four conversions.

BUCCANEERS U-15 yellow team played Corinthians in a friendly in perfect conditions on Sunday. Playing some great attacking brand of rugby Buccs should have scored 2 or 3 times before a breakaway score put the Athlone side under their posts. Scores went back and forth before Buccs last try was scored by Jordan Murray with Jack Costello narrowly missing the conversion to leave the scores tied at 19-19. Tomi Afinkaye had earlier scored a long range effort and Harry Dolan scored after prolonged attacking play.
