BUCCS HOME TO DOLPHIN
BUCCANEERS take on Dolphin in the Energia All-Ireland League Division 2B South at Dubarry Park on Saturday. Kick-off for this Round 6 fixture is 2.30 p.m. The Cork city club won their opening fixture against Enniscorthy but have suffered 4 defeats since then including a 62-0 loss at home to Midleton last week. Buccs also came out the wrong side against the east Cork outfit but that was an away game for the Pirates.
Buccs will target this as a must win match as they search for their first home victory of the campaign. Even allowing for the inexperienced nature of their squad, the Pirates have been frustratingly inconsistent. However, if they reproduce the effort and enterprise shown in their last two away fixtures that both resulted in fine wins, then Buccaneers can make it back-to-back successes. The spirit and commitment displayed was wonderful and, if repeated, the Pirates can sink Dolphin.
U-20s AWAY TO NAVAN
BUCCANEERS U-20s face Navan at Old Balreask on Sunday in the J.P.Fanagan Leinster Premier League 2. Both clubs lie in mid-table and will be chasing the win that will keep them in touch with the pace-setters. With so many Buccs also involved with the Senior squad, the Pirates resources are stretched. But there is talent and grit in the panel and they can be counted on to give it their best shot when the action kicks off at the listed 3 p.m. time.
SECONDS AWAY TO BALLYHAUNIS
BUCCANEERS SECONDS travel to joint leaders Ballyhaunis in the third round of the Bank of Ireland Connacht Junior 1B League on Sunday. The Mayo club has run up decent scores to date so Buccs will need to be at their disciplined best to compete. Kick-off is 2.30 p.m.
WOMENS TEAM HOME TO CORINTHIANS
Buccs Womens team line out against Galway Corinthians in the Bank of Ireland Connacht Womens League 1B at Dubarry Park on Sunday when the action gets under way at 1 p.m.
