Buccaneers U-14’s had a comprehensive win against Oughterard on Sunday with a much improved display on a sunny midlands afternoon. Some slick handling by both backs and forwards allied to improved defence was the template for a big win with Sam Byrne, Jacob Bourke and Andrew Cotton in the backs and Ciaran West, Evin Claffey and newcomer Nathan Kelly in the forwards, starring for this young team. Good to see all 27 players contributing to the win.

Buccaneers mini club in Cushla began its journey last Sunday on the superb Astro turf facility. Over 60 boys and girls joined in the fun for an hour and ten minutes of activity on a beautiful sunny morning. Many thanks to all the coaches and helpers who ensued a great new beginning primarily for kids from the west side of Athlone.
