CORINTHIANS 17 BUCCANEERS 25

BUCCANEERS recovered from a slow start to overcome fellow contenders Corinthians 25-17 in a keenly contested Connacht U-17 League game played in dry conditions at Clounacauneen on Sunday.

Defensive errors gifted some scores to the home side who also benefitted from being given too much time on the ball. But the Pirates got their act together helped by a dominant pack. Buccs lineouts and mauls were very effective with Kyle Byrne, Sean Glennon and Kailin Blessing to the fore in the forwards exchanges.

This enabled backs Brian Doyle, Paul O’Sullivan and Daire Burke to pick off tries. Andrew Henson and Diarmuid Lyons were pick of the backline. There is huge ability in this squad and they have the potential with proper focus particularly at training to achieve a double again this season.
