GALWAY BAY 5 BUCCANEERS 39
Buccaneers U-16s squad travelled to play Galway Bay for the third time this season and made it a hattrick of victories over the westerners. Buccs found it difficult to get any continuity in the game which was due to their propensity to give away needless penalties. High tackling was the main culprit and it took the half time break for them to tidy up their game.
A 39-5 scoreline was comfortable for the midlanders but stiffer challenges await this talented group. Darragh Glennon led the try scoring with a brace with Philip Finnan, Ciaran West, Peter Bourke and Andrew Cotton notching one apiece. Cotton also kicked a penalty and Rory Dolan added three conversions.
