BALLINA 23 BUCCANEERS 26

BUCCANEERS U-17s continued in their bid to add the Connacht Cup crown to their League title when they narrowly overcame Ballina 26-23 in a keenly contested game at Heffernan Park on Sunday.
This is a well-schooled Pirates outfit and they had to draw on all their acumen to defeat the home side through unconverted tries by Andrew Henson (2), Kailin Blessing and Diarmuid Lyons. Fullback Henson landed a brace of penalties to help edge this contest.

Buccaneers U-15s cast off the shackles with an 11 try to 1 win against a game Gort team. Rory O’Connor and Elliot Friel scored two tries apiece. Brian Rourke, Scott Lowe, Adam Murphy, Sean O’Hara, Jack McDonnell, Eoin Carr and John Finnan notched one each and Carr added 4 conversions.
Buccs brought on all substitutes in the second half and the new style game paid rich dividends.
