NAVAN 20 BUCCANEERS 41
BUCCANEERS U-20’s tasted their first action of the season with a friendly away to Navan where they forged an encouraging 41-20 victory at Old Balreask on Sunday.
Some new faces joined the mostly familiar names including the effervescent Patrick Egan from last season and they jelled reasonably well, scoring half a dozen tries in the process. The two Toms, Cotton and Sheehan, led the try scoring with a brace each. M.S.Radebe and Niall Tallon notched the other touchdowns. Dylan Duffy converted four tries and kicked a penalty.
Sheehan and Cotton excelled in the backline where Duffy and Lorcan McCormack also did well. Aindriu Oates was the standout forward with good support from Sean Rohan. Replacements Sean Doyle and Callum Kelly made notable contributions when introduced.
