BUCCANEERS 55 GALWAY UNIVERSITY 3
BUCCANEERS U-20’s qualified for Premier 2 Division of the J.P.Fanagan Leinster League with a comprehensive 55-3 victory over Galway University in their final Bank of Ireland Connacht League fixture played in breezy conditions at Dubarry Park on Sunday.
Buccs made a number of positional and personnel changes from the previous week’s outing and were on top from start to finish against the Students. Last season’s U-18.5 pair Thomas Cotton and Thomas Sheehan renewed their centre partnership to splendid effect. Sam Brown made an impressive debut at lock while blindside flanker Neil Botes put in a man of the match performance.

Dylan Duffy, at fullback, completed the Pirates try tally and also kicked five conversions. Botes was best supported by Brown, Rohan and Aindriu Oates in the pack while the two Toms – Sheehan and Cotton – along with Donnacha Connolly were pick of the home backline.
