BUCCS FIRST EVER MATCH AGAINST CLOGHER VALLEY ON SATURDAY

BUCCS AWAY TO CLOGHER VALLEY

For the third week in a row an Ulster club provides opposition for Buccaneers in the Energia All-Ireland League but on this occasion it is a first ever meeting with Clogher Valley based in Fivemiletown. Kick-off for this Division 2B game at The Cran on Saturday is 2.30 p.m.
The club was founded a mere 35 years ago but has made noticeable progress in the interim. They are fourth in the league table following 5 wins out of their 8 fixtures and are enjoying their best sequence at the moment. They have won the All-Ireland Junior Cup twice so will be formidable opposition.

Buccs have some connection with the Tyrone club as the late Philip Moore played U-20s with the Pirates. The Athlone club is making a presentation in his memory to Clogher Valley after Saturday’s match. The midlanders will need to be at their disciplined best to overcome the hosts but they have been improving steadily and confidence is returning to the squad based on recent results and performances. Dan Donovan will be a big loss for the Shannonsiders who will be hoping to have some of their recent absentees fit again for this first meeting of the clubs.
