U-20s AWAY TO UCD IN CUP
BUCCANEERS U-20s head to the capital on Sunday for a Corry Cup clash with UCD Seconds at Belfield, kick-off 3 p.m. The teams were scheduled to meet in the final round of the J.P.Fanagan Leinster Premier League Division 2 in Athlone last Sunday but College conceded the points to the Pirates who had already retained their title. Perhaps the Students were unable to muster a squad due to St. Patrick’s weekend or maybe they wished to keep their powder dry ahead of the Cup encounter. It was very disappointing for the Buccaneers players not to have a game after which they would have been presented with the trophy and received their medals. But it adds a bit of spice to Sunday’s duel when, hopefully, the Pirates pack will provide a match-winning platform.
