BUCCANEERS THIRDS square up to Ballinasloe Seconds in the final of the Bank of Ireland Ard-Na-Cregg Cup which takes place at Corinthian Park, Galway, on Sunday. Kick-off is 2.30 p.m.
Ballinasloe have come out on the right side of tight margins on their way to this decider, accounting for Monivea, Galwegians and Corrib. Buccs had an easier route with two walkovers but then deservedly overcame Westport in a hard-fought semi-final that should stand them in good stead. There is a wide age profile in this band of Pirates, mixing guile and experience along with youth and energy. It is a derby duel that could go to extra time but a cracking battle looks very likely.
