BUCCANEERS U-14s played Corinthians in a friendly encounter on a perfect pitch on Sunday. Buccs started off in fine form and came close a couple of times but, as is their wont, lost possession in the opposition 22 who then ran the length of the pitch to score under the posts. This theme continued with Buccs tackling being tested continuously. Buccs did press with newcomer Conal Murphy scoring after a strong run and good scores followed from Kai Costello and Tadhg O’Faolan but Corinthians finished strongly.
Best for Buccs were James Ghee and Costello in the backs and Conor Gilligan and Fionn McNamara in the forwards. Buccs used a full panel in preparation for next week’s league encounter with Creggs.
