PLATE FINAL POSTPONED
The Cawley Cup Plate final, in which Buccaneers J1A team were scheduled to play NUIG at Dubarry Park on Friday night, was called off on Thursday. This scribe understands it was due to NUIG players having examinations on the following day (postponed from Tuesday when Storm Barra was blowing). This was frustrating for this Buccs squad but was also perhaps somewhat short-sighted by the Connacht Branch to list this game during College exams period and also that the cancellation was so late in the week. No alternative yet to hand.
Meanwhile the U-16 League final against Ballina was also pulled.
