BUCCS ON THE ROAD TO GREYSTONES & UCD

BUCCS AWAY TO GREYSTONES

BUCCANEERS travel to Dr. Hickey Park on Saturday where they face Greystones in the seventh series of Energia All-Ireland League fixtures. This Division 2A match kicks off at 2.30 p.m. Greystones lie in 5th place, having won 50% of their games to date, while defeats to pace-setters Instonians and Cashel have been by very narrow margins. They come into this contest on the back of an away victory at Banbridge so they are a team to be reckoned with.

This time two seasons ago Buccs were looking towards to 1A but have been slipping down from that lofty position in the interim. Injuries and departures have been major factors and, with the treatment bay remaining busy, it looks like another tough assignment on the east coast. Nevertheless, the players have shown commendable spirit and resilience and, if they can eliminate needless errors, they can turn the tide.

U-20s FACE COLLEGE TEST AT UCD

BUCCANEERS U-20s face a tricky assignment away to University College Dublin in the J.P.Fanagan Leinster Premier League when the sides meet at Belfield on Sunday. This 2B game has a 2.30 p.m. kick-off. Buccs 100% win record will be put on the line here but the Pirates have a well-balanced, hard-working side that is capable of rising to the challenge. They are the only unbeaten team in this division and have a game in hand on table-toppers St. Mary’s College so improving Buccs have a big incentive to win.
