BUCCANEERS GIRLS WIN ON THE DOUBLE AT ENNISKILLEN
Despite battling through relentless rain and blustery winds, both the Buccaneers RFC Girls U14 and U16 teams showed real determination and skill on Sunday, September 14th, as they took on Enniskillen RFC in tough conditions.
U14 Match Summary:
The Buccaneers U14 girls kicked off the day with a spirited performance. From the outset, their physicality at the breakdown and clever support play gave them the edge, even as the ball became increasingly difficult to handle in the downpour. Strong carries and excellent team communication led to a well-earned victory. The backline remained composed under pressure, and the forwards worked tirelessly in the wet conditions to secure quick ball as they retained the Perpetual Scallon Cup.
U16 Match Summary:
Following the U14s’ lead, the U16 girls took to the field with similar energy and focus. Enniskillen came out strong, but the Buccaneers’ defensive structure and discipline were key. In very testing conditions, the girls adapted brilliantly, making use of short, sharp passes and keeping the play tight when needed. Their work rate never dropped, and they were rewarded with a solid win.
Both Buccaneers teams showed impressive resilience and team spirit in what were far from ideal conditions. Coaches and supporters alike were proud of the grit and determination shown throughout the day.
Well done to all the players, coaches, and supporters – and a big thank you to Enniskillen RFC for two great games played in excellent spirit, and for providing us with such fantastic hospitality on the day.
We are still recruiting for our U14 and U16 Girls, come on down meet the Coaches and the Teams, learn new skills, make friends and build confidence.
