ALL ACTIVITY OFF AT BUCCANEERS
With the IRFU cancelling all rugby activity until at least March 29th, Buccaneers Energia All-Ireland League Division 2A fixture at home to Nenagh Ormonde last Saturday was cancelled as is next week’s long haul to Ballymena.
Next week is also a major loss for the club as Dubarry Park was due to proudly host the Energia Womens All-Ireland Cup finals with three deciders, involving clubs from all four provinces, down for decision. Highlight of the day was the Cup final between holders UL Bohemian and challengers Old Belvedere. The Plate final will be contested by last season’s Cup runners-up Blackrock and Cooke from Ulster. The Shield decider will be an all-Connacht affair between Galwegians and Westport. Hopefully, these finals will be rescheduled for Dubarry Park in the not too distant future.
The IRFU decision also means that no training or other rugby activity may take place so all team coaches/managers please note.
Meanwhile, the club’s FASHION SHOW due to take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Thursday, April 2nd, will now surely be deferred. Tickets already purchased will remain valid and indeed tickets make an ideal ‘Mother’s Day’ gift. They can be purchased from the hotel, Carrig Donn (Golden Island Shopping Centre) or by phoning our Administrator Geraldine at 0861732711.
BOUNTY CLOSING FOR TWO WEEKS
Following the Government directive to all public houses, The Bounty Bar & Venue at Dubarry Park closed on Sunday night until March 29th.
CONDOLENCES
Deepest sympathy is extended to Gerry Mannion and extended family on the death of his brother Jimmy.
