ANOTHER MAJOR AWARD FOR HENSHAW
ROBBIE HENSHAW has scooped another major award being named Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Men’s Player of the Year 2020/21. Henshaw put in countless top-quality performances during the season whether wearing the blue of Leinster, the green of Ireland or the red of the British & Irish Lions. Robbie was a key player for the Lions, one of only two players to start every test. A world class operator, yet humble, Henshaw stated he was privileged to get this accolade. Meanwhile, Beibhinn Parsons from our neighbouring club Ballinasloe was honoured with the Women’s Player of the Year award. Congratulations to both.
CARTY BACK IN IRELAND SQUAD
JACK CARTY has received an overdue recall to the Ireland Senior squad ahead of the forthcoming Six Nations Championship. Two other Buccaneers players are also included in Andy Farrell’s 35-man panel, ROBBIE HENSHAW and FINLAY BEALHAM. We wish them all the best in the forthcoming championship and hope they all get loads of game time.
FOUR YOUNG BUCCS GET CONNACHT PRO CONTRACTS
Four young Buccaneers players are among the six players who have signed their first Pro contracts with Connacht for the upcoming season. DARRAGH MURRAY, OISIN McCORMACK, SHANE JENNINGS and CIARAN BOOTH are the quartet and we wish them every success in their future careers.
