BART FLANAGAN RIP

BART FLANAGAN RIP

The death has occurred of Albert (Bart) Flanagan who played for many seasons with Athlone Rugby Football Club. Bart featured on both the Senior and Junior teams and played in the Connacht Junior Cup finals of 1967 and 1968. Following his playing days, he retained a great interest in the club to whom he gave great service. He was a staunch supporter of Buccaneers while Athlone Boat Club and golf were among his other sporting passions. Bart was a raconteur and his passing robs the club of one of its colourful characters. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to his wife Anne, daughters Nadia and Nicola, and wider circle of family and friends.

Condolences are also extended to James Kelly and family on the untimely passing of his mother Sylvia after a short illness. Condolences too to Mary and Michael Loughman and family on the death of Mary’s father Dinny Connaire.
May they rest in eternal peace.
