BUCCANEERS 15 CREGGS 20
Buccaneers U-16s played Creggs in the Connacht League at home last Saturday and were somewhat unfortunate to lose by 4 tries to 3 on a 20-15 scoreline.
The visitors got away to a fine start which exposed once again Buccaneers achilles heel…. the flanks. Buccs were on top up front and Sean O’Hara scored a fine try before Buccs succumbed to a cross kick. Peter Sunny was having a fine game and he plunged over from short range but Buccs should have scored with a series of forays before half-time.
After the break Creggs scored another wide try but a Scott Lowe snipe resulted in a fine try which was unconverted. Buccs exerted pressure but were unable to score …. ruing their earlier defensive fragilities.
Buccs best were Callum McCormack despite line out hiccups and Sunny in the forwards and Lowe in the backs.
