strong>BUCCANEERS 19 GALWEGIANS 53

A more experienced Galwegians Seconds proved too strong for Buccaneers in their Connacht Womens Plate semi-final played at Dubarry Park on Sunday. Although Buccs had benefit of the strong breeze in the first half, Wegians did the main damage against the elements that included swirling hailstones to lead 33-7 at the interval.
The Buccs ladies competed much better following the change of ends, exiting this competition on a 53-19 scoreline. Annya Coyle, Ava Flynn and Siva Malassou were the Pirates try scorers with Malassou adding two conversions. So, a tough learning campaign for Buccaneers but some green shoots showing. With girls coming up through the youths ranks and a deeper panel next season, the squad will be more competitive.
