BUCCANEERS 40 BALLINASLOE 0

Buccaneers U-15s played local rivals Ballinasloe on a perfect October Sunday morning and came away with a comprehensive 40-0 win at Dubarry Park.
Buccs played excellent rugby with running, off-loading and support of the highest quality. Eoin Carr moved the backline around with aplomb and Jack McDonnell’s return made a huge difference to the ever-improving pack. John Finnan captained the side from the front and it was fitting that he should score the first try.

28-0 ahead at half time but Ballinasloe came back strongly at the start of the second half when some epic defence and last ditch tackling prevented any opposition score.

Finnan and Sean O’Hara each got a brace of tries and Brian Rourke and Elliott Friel each got one with Carr converting 5 tries. Adam Murphy, Mikey Doolan and Callum McCormack were best of the forwards with Finnan and industrious scrum half Scott Lowe shining in the backline.
