BUCCANEERS 5 CORINTHIANS 14

On a sunny but showery Sunday afternoon, this JP Fanagan qualifier was building nicely by the first water break when Corinthians were leading 14-5. Mark Glynn capped early Buccs pressure with a 15th minute unconverted try at the right corner. Buccs dropped their guard at a penalty three minutes later and Rory McCleane tapped swiftly to nip in for a try. Then following a surging Tom O’Brien break, the homesters lost possession inside the opposition 22 from where the ball was moved to Sean Ndego who sped down the right flank. His chip ahead was finished off by Adam Madden and James Gorham added both conversions in a see-sawing affair.
Drama then unfolded with the referee incurring an injury and with the visitors not willing to accept a home referee as replacement the match was abandoned after some on-pitch discussion with a rescheduled date not available at time of writing.
