BUCCS AWAY TO CORINTHIANS
BUCCANEERS head west on Saturday afternoon for the second round of the Bank of Ireland Connacht Senior League. They square up to Galway Corinthians at Corinthian Park where the action kicks off at 5 p.m.
Corinthians, who won promotion to AIL Division 2A, won a tight Galway derby 13-10 at Crowley Park last weekend. This will be another acid test for the midlanders who are in restructuring mode. But it they can build on the display against Sligo, it should be another entertaining and close contest.
BUCCS TO CELEBRATE 30th ANNIVERSARY
Buccaneers will be playing for the 30th year in the All-Ireland League this season. The club will celebrate that landmark anniversary on the opening day of the AIL when newly promoted Instonians visit Dubarry Park for a Division 2A match on Saturday, September 21st.
Various packages are available for the occasion including the traditional pre-match meal with complimentary wine in The Bounty at €35 per person. This includes free admission to the big match and a 100-page programme. Afterwards there will be a BBQ plus live music and DJ. This later option has a cover charge of €25. If you feel up to being part of both the pre-match and after events, a discounted price of €50 applies. Early booking for the pre-match lunch is strong and tickets can be purchased in advance for what promises to be a day of memories and good craic.
