BUCCS AWAY TO OLD CRESCENT

BUCCS AWAY TO OLD CRESCENT

For the second week in a row, Buccaneers unusually have an away fixture when they travel to Takumi Park on the south side of Limerick city to face Old Crescent in round 5 of the Energia All-Ireland League. This Division 2A game kicks off at 2.30 p.m.

Old Crescent lie in seventh place and have been competitive in all their games to date apart from last week’s defeat at Corinthians. They overcame Banbridge and lost to Cashel in tight encounters whilst sharing the spoils with Navan. Ronan McKenna pulls the strings at flyhalf and flanker Karl Madden captains a youthful Limerick side.

Buccs will be seeking a change of fortune soon, particularly with a horrid run of injuries. Hopefully, some of their more experienced players will be match-fit shortly although Saturday’s fixture looks too soon for quite a number. But if Buccs eliminate errors and play with the endeavour and spirit shown in the opening halfhour at Banbridge, then the tide can turn.
