BUCCS DRAW IN U-16 LEAGUE FINAL

BUCCANEERS 22 CREGGS 22

Played in Ballinasloe RFC on Saturday between Buccaneers and Creggs the Connacht U-16 League final was a highly entertaining game which ended with honours even at 22-22.

Creggs started the game strongly and were rewarded with a penalty which they duly converted. But after 10 minutes Buccs replied strongly with 3 nice tries, one of which was converted, and finished the half up by 17-3.

A rejuvenated Creggs side came back with a strong second half performance to score 3 tries of their own converting two to take the lead. With 4 minutes left Buccs found themselves behind but rallied to score but weren’t able to add a winning conversion.
These two fine sides will meet again but Buccs will need to up their game, especially their discipline and defence to be champions.
