Both Buccaneers U-16 teams were in action at the weekend with the ‘black’ team back at full strength overcoming Ballina 52-0 and scoring freely with some great team efforts. The forwards were on top in the scrums and James Kelly’s accurate lineout throws ensured a steady supply to Ruari Dolan’s backline.

The ‘yellow’ team excelled with brilliant handling, support and off-loading against a plucky Tuam team on Sunday. Tuam scored the first try which gave Buccs a good wake-up call as they scored 6 tries to win 38-15. Jacob Bourke ran and tackled well at standoff with great service from his scrum half debutant John Paul who had an impressive game with Paco and Ryan Nagle excelling up front.
