Exciting times for Buccs girls!

Buccaneers RFC U-10 and U-12 Girls are having a busy November. Last Saturday was a 10 am kick-off for a Connacht Blitz Girls Series where Corinthians RFC were our excellent hosts. We had competitive games v Connemara All Blacks, Galwegians, Galway Bay RFC, Loughrea Unicorns and Claremorris Colts.

Then on Sunday a bus trip to the UCD Bowl where all our players provided a Guard of Honour and played half time “Give It a Try GIAT Match” at the Women’s Autumn International Ireland v Wales. Our IRFU hosts and the Irish team were absolutely fantastic and generous with their time, meeting with all our players after the game for selfies and autographs despite their disappointment in losing a spectacular game with the last play of the game. For the Buccaneers girls it was a great, memorable day and especially for our young players to see and meet such role models.

For Womens/Girls Rugby Buccaneers are committed and active to achieve 20×20 Goals and for our minis the motto is “if you can see it you can be it!” Training continues on Wednesday evenings under lights from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm and on Saturdays from 11am to 12.30 pm. Girls born 2008 & 2009 are U-12 mini rugby eligible and 2010 & 2011 are U-10 eligible to “Give Rugby a Try!” For more details call Paul on 087 3769584.
