J1’s away to Connemara
Buccaneers J1’s face a daunting challenge when they venture west to Clifden to square up to Connemara in their penultimate Connacht Junior 1A League fixture at the Monastery Field on Sunday. The home side are clear leaders of the league and are certain to retain their title while the Blacks will also wish to record a 100% winning campaign so Buccs, in dire need of points, are unlikely to be granted any favours. The Pirates are locked at the bottom of the table with Sligo, who have a better scoring difference. The midlanders must simply do better than the north-westerners in their remaining two fixtures. It is a stiff challenge but one that with the right attitude and personnel can be accomplished.
