MICHAEL MOORE CAR SALES SPONSOR BUCCS FOR 15th SEASON

MICHAEL MOORE CAR SALES SPONSOR BUCCANEERS

At a pleasant function in The Bounty, Buccaneers RFC announced that MICHAEL MOORE CAR SALES continue as the club’s title sponsor. The alliance between Buccs and the Moore family now stretches to 15 seasons, a remarkable show of continued generous patronage by the leading midlands motor retailer.

Club President Eoin Reid welcomed the gathering that included Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation Kevin Boxer Moran and members of the media.

He stated that overall Buccaneers RFC is in great shape with Minis number continuing to grow significantly while the club’s Youths teams are regular title winners. The Womens senior team is up and running again and girls rugby continues to blossom.

The seniors men’s squad who Micheal Moore Car Sales sponsor are in a much stronger position now after a couple of difficult seasons. Numbers at training have been impressive and there is talent and potential aplenty in a youthful panel while new structures are being introduced in football to retain and develop local talent.

The club is going through significant development both on and off the pitch with major developments in an ambitious ten-year plan to make Buccs sustainable in our local community including solar panels already in place on the roof of The Bounty. Renovation of dressing rooms to make them more inclusive will commence in the coming weeks and a gym will be in operation shortly. Padel courts and Sauna/Ice baths coming on stream are other facilities that will be available at the club very soon with plans afoot for astro turf too among a list of projects.
Eoin concluded by giving a special thanks to all our sponsors especially to Michael Moore Car Sales who have been a part of the club for the last 15 years. Their unwavering support ensures that Buccaneers can keep moving forward, both on and off the pitch.

Michael Moore responded that he is proud to continue the long-established sponsorship with Buccaneers. “It’s really hard to believe that this is our 15th season to date as official sponsors with the relationship having grown into a strong partnership over the years”.
“The leadership, commitment and hard work put in consistently has never been so important, facilitating boys and girls from a young age being key to the continuation of the Buccaneers success.” He hoped this “remains as one of the core principles of the club to secure and deliver the next generation of players into the future. Constant and continual improvements are essential not only in rugby but in achieving our own goals and ambitions in life too”. As a proud sponsor of Buccaneers, Michael Moore concluded by wishing the Senior team and indeed all other Buccs teams great success in the upcoming season.

Head Coach Darin Claasen said that this season is about laying new foundations and moving forward together after a couple of challenging seasons. We need to work hard in developing our young players and build a team for the future from those coming through from the U-20s and U-18s. He has a strong and committed management team around him, focussing on the details and culture. It is a young group of players so if high standards are to be achieved it will entail hard work, discipline and unity.

Club Captain Corey Reid said he was honoured and privileged for the opportunity to lead by example. It is a very special due to his family’s long connection with the club and particularly with his father Eoin as President. He asks that all players set high standards and pull together with respect and perseverance, and then a young squad can reach their goals.

Minister Boxer Moran, fresh from the Ploughing Championships, was the final speaker. As a neighbour he was very proud of the facilities of the club and the achievements of players such as Robbie Henshaw, Jack Carty and the Murray brothers. He was impressed with the ambitious development plan and added that, in Government, he will assist in whatever way he can in ensuring the club has decent access to Capital Sports Grants and other funding. He too wished Buccaneers a very successful season at all levels.

Concluding the formalities, Eoin Reid presented a framed Buccaneers jersey to Michael Moore and again thanked the Moore brand for their continuing generous patronage of the club as he looked to a revitalised campaign.
