‘PROSECCO BY THE PITCH’
Even though Buccaneers home game against MU Barnhall was called off, the club’s second ‘Prosecco by the Pitch’ event proved hugely enjoyable and highly successful. It’s possible that many attending this Ladies Day occasion may not even have been aware that a game was to take place! Nevertheless, those in attendance appeared to thoroughly enjoy their afternoon, although whether or not any of them availed of it being Leap Year Day is not known! Congratulations to Judy Dowling who won the ‘Best Dressed Lady’ award.
There was a lengthy list of fine raffle prizes and the club gratefully acknowledges the relevant sponsors especially Nicola Fogarty of Athlone Fascinators, Syra Reid @ Fernhill Flowers and Henshaw Eyewear. Thanks to Liam Boland and Myst Hairdressing who sponsored the prosecco and to McSharry Pharmacies and Goko Beauty Bars for the goodie bags.
Thanks also to the primary drivers of ‘Prosecco by the Pitch’ including Lorna Stuart-Trainor, Aileen Hayes, Sandra Dowling, Giovanni Hudson, Nicola Fogarty, Mele Kiripati, Geraldine Kenny, Yvonne O’Shea, Susan Earner and the brave Diarmuid Sloane.
Thanks too to all the staff at The Bounty, Oliver Carty Meats, Grainne Cornally of Hodson Bay Group, and particularly to Dave Connolly and Frank McKiernan’s U-16’s team who performed admirably as waiters at the event.
