SEAMUS QUINN RIP

SEAMUS QUINN RIP

The death has taken place of SEAMUS QUINN who played on Athlone’s Connacht Senior Cup winning team of 1955, the first silverware won by the club. He was also on the Athlone side that lost the 1960 Senior Cup decider but played his part that season for the midlanders’ Seconds as they captured the Connacht Junior Cup. Seamus also won a Connacht Senior Cup with his home club Ballina where he was also honoured as Captain and President during his many decades at the Co. Mayo club.

Seamus was a pharmacist in the Co. Mayo town and he was a hugely influential and respected member of Ballina RFC. Buccaneers RFC extend heartfelt sympathy to his wife of 67 years Brenda and wider family. May he rest in eternal peace.
