U-14s win at Ballinasloe

YOUTH RUGBY

Buccaneers U-14s travelled to neighbours Ballinasloe on Saturday for a rearranged league game. Buccs scored first when the returning Nathan Kelly touched down near the posts for Noah Stewart to convert. But Buccs lost control of the game with some sloppy play and allowed the home team to score from close range and that’s how it remained until the break.

Buccs were quick out of the blocks and much more structured for the second period and soon scored with another Kelly try followed by a close in effort from the outstanding Reuben Colleran. Peter Bourke finished the scoring after his own lineout steal. A much better performance by the team in the second half with improved outings from Bourke, Alex Connors, Stewart and Jack Ryan.
