BUCCANEERS commence their J.P.Fanagan Leinster U-20 Premier League 2 proper with a trip to Templeville Road, Dublin, to take on St. Mary’s College on Sunday. The action there gets under way at 3 p.m. St. Mary’s did the double over Buccs last season but the midlanders will be gearing for better fortune this time around. They will have benefited from two tight tussles in the preliminaries and will hope for a more cohesive and accurate performance on Sunday. Quite a number of their squad are involved with the First XV which may delay team selection.
At the other end of the scale, Buccaneers J2 squad head west to Crowley Park to face up to Galwegians in the Connacht Junior 2 League on Sunday. Kick off is 2.30 p.m. Wegians have started well with wins over Westport and Connemara but the ‘veterans’ back-boned Buccs can make life difficult for the hosts. However, better numbers at training could help!
