SLIGO 0 BUCCANEERS 27
Having won their League last year Buccaneers ‘Black’ were promoted to the top division in the Connacht U-16 League this year. First up were Sligo who travelled to Athlone on Sunday. Buccs were on top from the get-go and moving the ball wide got a score from winger Sean Norton. Will Browne, who was having a storming game at full back, scored the next but Sligo were defending well.
After the break Browne got his second try with Jordan Murray and Rob Connors also scoring and Cian Kilcommins converting once. Overall, a good start to the campaign but with harder games ahead Buccs discipline will need to improve to succeed.
