Buccaneers ‘Black’ team entertained Corrib on Sunday on a sharp autumnal day. The home side had lost in the corresponding game last year and Buccs were keen for payback and started at a furious pace, scoring two early tries with superb rucking and tackling. At this stage Corrib were punch drunk and in truth Buccs butchered several scores before they managed to get through again. The forward power led by Michael Kenny and Pauric Brazil put in a tremendous stint and the backs too stood up with Sonny Drummond and Eoghan Killeen especially dangerous. Buccs last try was particularly well constructed with Fionn Lyons taking a quick free running hard and staying on his feet to offload to the supporting Matias Jurginas for a breathtaking score

Buccaneers U-15 ‘Yellow’ team travelled under strength to Oughterard. on Sunday but came away with a big win mainly due to the work done by captain Niall Tallon , flanker Patrick Egan and centre Leon Cassidy. Despite giving the home team an easy start when the out half cross kicked and the Buccs full back and winger allowed the home winger to collect and score, Buccs played some superb rugby carrying the ball up the field with adroit handling and off loading. Buccs scored two tries but conceded two soft penalties to leave the score 14 -11 and the game nicely poised. Sonny Drummond kicked very well and when he went off Fionn Lyons had some excellent kicks. With Buccs now rampant the scoring finished at 40 to 11 to Buccs.
