COME ON IRELAND!
IRELAND made history last Saturday when recording a first ever victory over the All Blacks on New Zealand soil with a richly deserved 23-12 win in which Robbie Henshaw again played a leading role with another Buccaneer Finlay Bealham contributing when introduced for the final quarter hour. New Zealand were flattered the previous week by their 42-19 margin when Ireland had more possession and territory but just could not finish off a number of promising close-in attacks. Meanwhile the All Blacks had some good fortune and questionable officiating helping their cause. Jaco Peyper’s strong refereeing meant the hosts did not get away with their usual sharp practices and thus Ireland’s win sets up a hugely anticipated series decider next Saturday. Dave Heffernan is a third Bucc in the Ireland squad who also have Keith and Robbie Fox in their backroom team. So get out of bed early and pop in to The Bounty to watch the drama unfold on the big screens where the atmosphere will surely be mighty. Breakfast rolls will be served at half-time; phone 0906477566 for table reservations.
